Senility(2019)

With the pace of technological advancement and urbanization, we are living in a period of philosophical uncertainty that affects human emotions, cultures and daily habits. Against this backdrop, the series Senility asks the question: what is the fate of objects?
Objects are important actors in human life dramas, reflecting our varying needs and attachments, however, objects are increasingly defined by their obsolescence. In this era of hypermodernity, the culture of consumption demands a constant stream of newer versions, editions, models and updates of almost every kind of object we use, while the physical object itself becomes an artifact of human waste. Whether objects belong to people to satisfy their needs or are kept solely for posterity, they always seem to end up being thrown away and forgotten.
This photo series laments the fate of all objects. Each image is a visual obituary that commemorates the life of an object, celebrates its brief moment of functionality and importance, and mourns its departure from human memory.
